Lee Selby Calls Josh Warrington A Chicken

It appears that no matter how much IBF World Champion Lee Selby want this fight, Josh Warrington is having none of it! Selby has publicly declared that his is willing to accept less than 75% of the purse for this battle as well as fight in Warrington's hometown, but it appears Warrington has other plans as he has declared his wedding in August seems to be his priority and not his dignity facing Selby. Josh Warrington called out to the boxing fans that Selby's style was "boring", a shout out that as you can imagine, upset Selby. Talks went ahead to match the two fighters, despite the fact that Warrington isn't entitled to a shot by default as he is not in the Mandatory position to force the fight. Selby disgruntled by the shout out eagerly offered this fight and was also prepared to come to Leeds to fight, Warrington's home town. This bitter feud was sparked off by Warrington, who boasted Selby would lose his defence to American Eric Hunter. Needless to say, Selby fought the American and won on a unanimous points decision last month. This opened the gateway for the fight against Warrington, but now Warrington is claiming other more important factors? Granted getting married is an event we all cherish, but surely having called out the World Champion, to now back down and decided the fight, despite all the glowing conditions for Warrington, isn't a priority. Losing face is not a good thing to happen in the fight game. Right now, unless there is a change of heart by Warrington he will have to take this on the chin and accept his only ever chance to make this fight happen in the future will be by default and gaining Mandatory status as Selby has made it quite clear, it's either now or never. So what do fight fans make of all this, was Warrington talking the talk but in reality not prepared to walk the walk? Did emotions get the better of his mouth and he thought the fight would never be a reality as yet? Either way, it doesn't look good for the lad and right now, it would only take a hardcore Warrington fan who could justify a wedding over a potential big earning fight against a man he called out! The fight game, it really is a live and die by the sword world out there!
